Balance beams. Tumbler dolls

About this workshop

At the workshop, we'll discuss structural stability. We'll find the center of gravity of one-dimensional, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional figures. We'll explore stable and unstable equilibrium positions, as well as bodies with a shifted center of gravity and those with a changing center of gravity. We'll make tumbler toys from scrap materials.

What you will build

During the workshop, we'll conduct various experiments that demonstrate balance and the concept of the center of gravity. We'll also make tumbler dolls from scrap materials.

What you need to know first

No previous STEM or science experience is required; curiosity and a willingness to build, experiment, and ask questions are all you need.
